Dr Orsolya Katalin PetÅ‘cz is a Postdoctoral Affiliate of French and Italian at the ÃÜÌÒÊÓƵ where she completed her PhD supervised by Prof Emma Wilson and Prof Robert S. C. Gordon. She explores queer testimonies across literature and the visual arts. She focuses primarily on the testimonies of survivors of World War II and studies the early texts of queer and trans theories in the context of which these testimonies emerge. PetÅ‘cz organises events in line with her research interests, most recently the conference and film premiere . PetÅ‘cz has published research articles in Journal of Italian Cinema and Media Studies, Italian Studies and French Cultural Studies, as well as book chapters. PetÅ‘cz is the coeditor, with Naomi Segal, of the volume (Palgrave Macmillan: 2024), endorsed as a ‘must-read’ by Princeton-based André Benhaïm. The book offers a bridge to her postdoctoral work related to migration studies with a focus on the stigma of promiscuity in the testimonies of Eastern European Holocaust survivors. PetÅ‘cz is currently working on a book titled Genders Ago: Monstrosity in the Long Twentieth Century, a book that elaborates on ‘queer testimony’.
