11:00am - Welcome and Introduction: Dr Rory Finnin, Associate Professor in Ukrainian Studies
Learn aboutÌýthe Slavonic Studies Section and the many academic pursuits that the ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµ makes possible. Explore Russian as part of theÌýdegree in Modern and Medieval Languages and as part of the new joint degree in Russian and History.
11:15am - Russian Language Taster Session: Dr Anna Schneider;ÌýMr StefanÌýLacny
Experience a Russian language lesson designed for those who may have some Russian (GCSE or A’level) or no Russian at all. Whatever your starting point, you will be sure to learn something new!
12:00pm - Break
12:15pm - Presentation: Professor Emma Widdis, Professor of Russian and Film Studies
Take part in a mini-lecture about the importance of the humanities to the understanding of today's Russia, with vivid examples from literature and film
1:15pm - Q&A with ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµ undergrads.
