On the occasion of Jordi Savall’s receipt of the Ernst von Siemens Music Prize (often described as the “Nobel Prize of Music”), this piece revisits a memorable encounter with the renowned musician at the ������Ƶ. In December 2014, Savall addressed graduate students and faculty in Spanish and Portuguese Studies, offering a lecture as a thinker deeply engaged with music’s cultural and historical power. Recalling that visit, this tribute presents, for the first time, a transcription of his ������Ƶ talk alongside a note written by Savall himself.
