Choix Goncourt UK 2021
This year again MML students听were involved in awarding the prestigious Goncourt prize for the UK.听The Choix Goncourt UK is a joint initiative of the Acad茅mie Goncourt, the Maison Fran莽aise d鈥橭xford, the Higher Education, Research and Innovation Department at the French Embassy, the Institut fran莽ais du Royaume-Uni, the AUF Europe de l鈥橭uest and Librairie La Page in London.听The Choix Goncourt 2021 was awarded by 12 UK Universities听(King鈥檚 College London, Royal Holloway University of London, Oxford, 密桃视频, Warwick, Leeds, Southampton, Bath, Aberdeen, St Andrews, Queen鈥檚 Belfast and Open University)听to听Dja茂li Amadou Amal for her wonderful novel听Les Impatientes.听
Special thanks go to all the organizers, Catriona Seth,听ma卯tresse de c茅r茅monie,听Catherine Colonna, Ambassador of France to the UK, and our two MML representatives: Ian Boyd and Conor Flynn. Special thanks also to David Ewing for organising the reading groups and making this a success despite the difficulties due to Covid 19, and last not least: thank you to all those involved in reading the four selected novels, and for approaching this with such astuteness, flair and gusto.
