Short bio
Ștefania is the first ever Lecturer in Romanian Language, Culture, and Linguistics at the Ƶ (position created by Institutul Limbii Române and sponsored by the Romanian State). She did both her MPhil and PhD at the Ƶ (St John’s College), under the supervision of Prof Adam Ledgeway. Her PhD thesis on Morphosyntactic variation and contact: A comparative view from Daco-Romancereconstructs the unattested stages of Daco-Romance and reevaluates the role played by language contact across the Balkans. After her PhD, she became a Postdoctoral Research Associateat the University of Oxford (Trinity College), working with Prof Martin Maiden for the Leverhulme-funded project Istro-Romanian: the history of the Žejanski and Vlaški language and its speakers.
