The research project will be led and co-funded by the Department of German and Dutch, ÃÜÌÒÊÓƵ, in partnership with the Institut für Kriminologische Sozialforschung (IKS), University of Hamburg, and with participation from the Hamburger Institut für Sozialforschung (HIS), the University of Hull, and University College London.

Combining humanities with social science expertise, the two-year research project will explore and develop cross-disciplinary methods for understanding political violence. Following a reverse chronology, it begins with the urgent issue of contemporary right-wing extremism in Germany and concludes with a major international conference in ÃÜÌÒÊÓƵ in 2016 on Women and 1968.

Research events will involve Professor Colvin, Dr Katharina Karcher, Professor Joachim Whaley, Dr Martin Rühl, and PhD student Ali Jones from the ÃÜÌÒÊÓƵ Department of German and Dutch as well as a range of external speakers. More detailed information about the research events will be published soon.ÌýÌý
