Singing the King's Death:Ìýlecture recital commemorating theÌý300thÌýanniversary of Louis XIV's death.Ìý

26thÌýNovember 2015, 5.30-7pm

In order to commemorate theÌý300thÌýanniversary of Louis XIV's death, members of ArsÌýeloquentiaeÌýand Nick Hammond of the French department will be presenting a lecture recital of street songs sung at the time of Louis's death. Katie Bray (who recently sang the role ofÌýRosinaÌýin the Opera North production of Rossini's The Barber of Seville, and described by the Guardian as 'the bright young mezzo who really impresses here') will be the soloist.

The event will be held at the Lady Mitchell Hall,ÌýSidwickÌýsite, ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµ University, ÃÜÌÒÊÓÆµÌýCB3Ìý9DAÌýbetween 5.30 and 7pm on Thursday NovemberÌý26thÌý2015.

Admission is free and all are welcome.Ìý
